6.6.2021: The man, who teared down the fence of the Auschwitz concentration camp

Probably, you have heard the sentence "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" [1] from the former US President Ronald Reagan, when he was visiting West Berlin in 1987. Well, the people of East Germany did it, under the (implicit) permission of Mikhail Gorbachev in 1989; while changing the world entirely.

However, there exist people which not just phrase such a proclamation, but rather do it: David Dushman. Being part of the Allied forces against Hitler and Nazi Germany, he physically teared down the fence of the Auschwitz concentration camp with his Red Army tank T-34 at age of 21 [2].

He liberated the starving and almost dying camp prisoners and was regarded as veteran by the Jewish community [3] while later living in Munich, Germany, the country of his enemies. He passed by now, aged 98.

People like him shaped the world. Not by speach and talk, but by simply doing what is necessary and seems to be right. Thanks David. Rest in Peace.
