14.1.2012: The youngest Microsoft SW engineer died: Arfa Karim Randhawa

I've heard with great sadness the pass away of Arfa Karim Randhawa [1] just at the age of 16.

Arfa was a Pakistani girl being early attracted by SW engineering, learned in particular the Windows OS (and here, .NET) and matured already being 12 years old [2].

We need to remember her and shall not forget, that her country had and has (despite political troubles) a great tradition in the scientific education (irrespectively whether men or women). Here, I would like to mention the great teacher Abdus Salam [3], who is one of the fathers of the modern Renormalization Theory [4] in Particle Physics and who laid the foundation for my own research in Neutrino Physics.
